Apple creating ad agency, to hire 1,000 employees: Report

Apple is reportedly unhappy with its long-time advertising agency TBWA/Media Arts Lab and will be creating an internal agency to handle its advertising work. The iPhone maker is trying to hire top talent from the advertising world and focussing more on digital ads, according a report by AdAge.

This step towards taking marketing and advertising in its own hands has reportedly come as a fallout of arch rivals Samsung and Google having gained more mindshare with better and more impactful ads.

Nowadays, Apple often pits ideas by its internal teams against the ones by TBWA/MAL, with the former winning more than the latter. Apple is even inviting other ad agencies to bid for projects, a scenario that was unimaginable under founder and CEO Steve Jobs....Read More

Budget 2014: Five changes to boost the employment in India

Each month a million young men and women are joining the workforce and a majority of them are those from smaller towns and cities, who didn't win the ovarian lottery. To ensure these kids don't lose their future, the Modi government needs to direct our political, economic and social agenda on specific areas that can give a fillip to both employment and employability. And what better time to initiate the process than the first budget!
Here are five key areas in hiring that need immediate attention:
1. Move from job preservation to job creation: The only form of social security and national security our country can afford for its 1.2 billion populations are jobs. While we have witnessed two decades of growth it doesn't seem right because we have added far more informal jobs during the same period than formal.
There is a myopic possessiveness around our labour laws which seem to protect a ridiculous minority of 6% of our workforce only. And they have been allowed to freely hijack the agenda against reforms in the name of protection of the jobs in the formal sector.....Read More

'Retweet With Comment' Twitter's Named its New Feature

The "Retweet with comment" feature lets you showcase the original tweet in a Twitter Card, leaving you with a full 140 characters to respond. As of now, your only options for responding to another tweet are to reply, leaving out any reference to the original tweet, or quote the tweet, which takes up a lot of your 140 characters.
The "Retweet with comment" would probably replace the "Quote the tweet" option, which simply lets you add your two cents to the original tweet.
The idea is that this feature would foster more conversations on Twitter, allowing for context while not detracting from the length allotted for a response, which users currently experience with the "Quote the tweet" option. This way tweeters can have more space to voice their opinion while still linking to the original tweet.
According to TechCrunch, Twitter is currently testing out the "Retweet with comment" feature with just a portion of its user base. Kurt Wagner of Mashable first detected the new feature in a tweet sent by Twitter's head of communications, Carolyn Penner. But it seems like the test goes beyond internal with random users seeing the switch as well.        Read More..

iPhone 6 will be Launching on September 19

Apple will launch 32GB and 64GB capacities of the phone for 5,288 yuan ($846) and 6,288 yuan ($1008), indicating that Apple may launch the iPhone 6 without a 16GB model. Notably, 5,288 yuan is the current price for the 16GB iPhone 5s in China, while the 32GB iPhone 5s is listed at 6,088 yuan.
A September launch would be consistent with the past two iPhone launches, as Apple also typically launches new products on a Friday. A reportBloomberg earlier this week also claimed that Apple may launch the larger 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6 and the 4.7-inch version simultaneously, with previous reports indicating that issues with battery and display technology would hold up the larger device's launch. In addition to a larger display, the iPhone 6 is expected to feature a thinner design, a faster A8 processor, and Apple will look to launch the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 on Friday, September 19, according to a new reportChinese web portal Tencent (Google Translate, via GforGames) citing inside sources. The news comes after German carrier Deutsche Telekom was reported to be informing customers of a similar release date for the device.                                     Read More..

Amazon is searching for Freelance Developers and Offering up to Rs.9 lakhs.

Amazon is offering $5,000 per app optimized for Fire Phone, paid out in tax-free Amazon Coins, the digital currency that lets you buy stuff in Amazon's Appstore. Each developer account can create up to three qualifying apps for a total potential payday of $15,000.

We first heard about the story on AndroidPolice.

Of course, there are some strict guidelines to follow in order to qualify for the full $5,000 per app.
Basically, Amazon is ensuring that its new 3D "Dynamic Perspective" feature will be used to some extent in the app, which would help the feature from falling into gimmicky obscurity. Dynamic Perspective is a bit similar to the parallax feature on iPhones, but it takes things to another level by using the Fire Phone's extra cameras to add 3D depth to apps and home screens, so that things shift and react to your movements.

Other than that, Amazon is also requiring apps to integrate with its multitasking user interface "Carousel" to keep browsing between different apps cohesive.

Why is Amazon offering developers essentially free money?

It's important to remember that Amazon is entering the smartphone market at a time where fragmentation is at an all time high. This trend can increase the workload for developers seeking to offer their app on as many platforms as possible, an issue Android has run into into in the past, and Apple could face if it continues to expand its iPhone product line.

9 signs you should Search for a new job

Here are some leading indicators that your IT career growth might be of little interest in your current employment and that staying where you are could mean further spinning your wheels at a time when your technology skills are in great demand.
1. New ideas meet red lights
Earning a stable income to endure ongoing tedium isn't everyone's ultimate goal for a career in IT. Unfortunately, that's all some employers have to offer -- even if it didn't seem that way when you took the job years ago.
Stagnation can mean career death in a competitive field, and if your company isn't offering unique, forward-looking projects, it might be time to hit the road.
"The speed of change that businesses are seeing today means that our IT organization needs to be more flexible, more adaptable, and we challenge the status quo more than ever," says Philip Garland, CIO at consulting firm PwC. "Disruptive innovation is the name of the game for our IT professionals."
The surest sign that your employer isn't facing this reality? A pervasive fear of failure can be felt throughout IT.

2. Respect and recognition are afterthoughts
Competitive pressures should not translate into poor treatment of staffers and co-workers, but all too often, dignity and respect take a back seat when the going gets tough.
When contention impedes results, a change of scenery may be the right call.

Interview Question You Should Never Ask

Here is one question for all the recruiters out here! How many of you have asked ‘What is your greatest weakness?’ to a candidate while interviewing him?

There would be many who would agree that they have asked this question to the candidates while interviewing them. If you are one among those, then can you simply tell how did that question helped you in deciding whether he is the right pick for the job vacancy or not?
Well, the truth is not just the candidates hate this question, but also it’s answer doesn’t lead to any fantastic insider about them.

Well, here are 2 main reasons for why you shouldn’t ask this question:

1.Sense of awareness might bring manipulation
In case, the candidate has a great level of self-awareness, and he knows what all are his weak points, then too his answer wouldn’t help you to judge whether it is the same candidate that you are looking for or not. Yes! With the high level of self-awareness, the level of smartness would also be high, and this broadens the chances of getting a manipulated answer. In simpler terms, chances are that either he would have worked upon his weaknesses and so he won’t have anything to answer, or with his sharp presence of mind, he would make sure that he gives a manipulative answer. So, again your purpose of peeping into the weaknesses of the candidate would fail.

2.The Candidate himself doesn’t know the answer
Most of the candidates themselves do not know about their weaknesses. In fact, according to one study, most people do not know what others think about them, they just believe or think about themselves as what they want to. This is one of the reasons for why they cannot figure out what’s missing in them, or what is there that they need to work upon. So, when they do not know the correct answer, they get fumble and give some vague reply, which won’t be helpful to you in any sense.

1.Integrate Blog and Social Media Comments
Many bloggers are discovering something interesting: When they update Facebook with a link to a new blog article, fans are leaving comments on the Facebook update instead of the blog.

2.Add Social Media Sharing Buttons/Widgets
Readers like things to be easy. If you make it easy for them to share, they’re more likely to do it.
To that end, social sharing buttons are the basic need of integrating social media into your blog.

3.Content should be valuable which you are Sharing
Many websites offer free resources to readers who sign up for an email subscription. Why not do the same for your blog content? If you have popular posts with consistent traffic, “lock” them and ask readers for a share before they can access the content.
While this is an effective strategy because it requires people to share an article before they have read it. To alleviate this, don’t lock up the entire article. Instead, reveal a strong introduction that entices the reader to share to continue.

These days it’s all about the images. Every social media network from Pinterest and Facebook to Google+ and Twitter emphasizes visual content. That means each one of your blog posts should have an image that inspires your readers enough to share it.
